On Tuesday he will accept a plea deal that will send him to jail for at least three years <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tampabay.com\/blogs\/rays\/content\/ex-ray-rhp-matt-bush-accept-plea-deal-dui-hit-and-run-case?utm_source=twitterfeed&amp;utm_medium=twitter\">according<\/a> to the Tampa Bay Times.<\/p>\n<p>After failing to make it to the majors as a position player, Bush was attempting a switch to pitcher with the Tampa Bay Rays.<\/p>\n<p>On March 22 he ran into a motorcyclist. The accident left 72-year-old Tony Tufano with serious injuries. Tufano stayed in an intensive care unit for weeks after suffering broken bones in his back and ribs as well as a collapsed lung.<\/p>\n<p>Bush was found to have been driving under the influence of alcohol. The legal case involving Bush is set to end, the Tampa Bay Times reports the following:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Attorney Russell Kirshy declined to offer specifics on the agreement, at least until Tuesday&#8217;s court hearing. But Bush&#8217;s father, Daniel, said it will involve a prison sentence of at least three years, not including the time already served.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He&#8217;s taking it pretty good,&#8221; Daniel Bush said. &#8220;He&#8217;s not crying or sulking. He&#8217;s preparing for it. Everybody in our family is backing him up.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Tufano family has filed a $5 million civil lawsuit against Bush and Rays minor league outfielder Brandon\u00a0Guyer.
