Instead he lasted just 1 1\/3 innings allowing two runs on two hits and a walk.<\/p>\n<p>Floyd is working at Triple-A as he regains arm strength from Tommy John surgery last season. Signed to a one-year deal worth $4 million the Braves are hopeful that the 31-year-old will be able to join their rotation sometime in May.<\/p>\n<p>In Floyd&#8217;s inning-plus of work he threw 42 pitches, of which 21 were strikes.<\/p>\n<p>Currently the Braves rotation is a patchwork of youngsters and castoffs. The Braves are expecting Ervin Santana to be ready to go next week and to get Mike Minor back shortly after that.<\/p>\n<p>Floyd owns a 70-70 record with a 4.48 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP across 10 seasons in the majors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Atlanta Braves had hoped that Gavin Floyd would make it though three innings in his first rehab start with Triple-A Gwinnett.
