I\u2019m good with the decision.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Westbrook now plans to spend more time at home with his family.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt will be a little tough transition for me but I\u2019m looking forward to all of the other things I will get an opportunity to do being home with the kids, helping coach their baseball and basketball teams and whatever sport they want to play,\u201d Westbrook said. \u201cI will be here all the time.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After failing to land a contract this winter, pitcher Jake Westbrook has announced his retirement from baseball.
