If the Padres feel they are unable to sign him they could opt to get a package of prospects now rather then wait for draft pick compensation.<\/p>\n<p>Joel Sherman of the <a href=\"http:\/\/nypost.com\/2013\/11\/30\/insiders-expect-beltran-to-land-in-pinstripes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">NY Post<\/a> reports that the Yankees have spoken to the Padres about Headley in the past but neither side believes a deal between the two clubs will happen.<\/p>\n<p>A year after hitting 31 home runs and driving in 115 RBI, Headley&#8217;s numbers dropped to 13 and 50 in 2013.
