Rodriguez, who was slated to return on Monday, had an MRI over the weekend that discovered a left quad strain that delayed his return to the Yankees&#8217; lineup.<\/p>\n<p>Rodriguez went out and sought a second opinion on his injury by Michael L. Gross, chief of the division of sports Medicine and the orthopedic director of The Sports Medicine Institute at Hackensack University.<\/p>\n<p>Gross told WFAN on Wednesday that Rodriguez has no injury.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/otKj7tH1JCY\" height=\"315\" width=\"560\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;To be perfectly honest,&#8221; Gross told host Mike Francesa, &#8220;I don&#8217;t see any sort of injury there.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It is believed the team is misinterpreting A-Rod&#8217;s injury simply to collect insurance money.<\/p>\n<p>Sure, it is possible to get two different diagnosis from two different doctors. But with all the talk surrounding A-Rod right now, it seems to add fuel to the fire for those who have conspiracy theories about the Yankees&#8217; intentions.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, CBS Evening News Jim Axelrod reported that Rodriguez could be <a title=\"Report: Alex Rodriguez could be facing lifetime ban from baseball\" href=\"http:\/\/tireball.com\/mlb\/2013\/07\/23\/alex-rodriguez-could-be-facing-lifetime-ban-from-baseball\/\">facing a lifetime ban from baseball.<\/a><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>USA Today&#8217;s Bob Nightengale reported that Rodriguez has no intention of negotiating a settlement with Major League Baseball and would appeal any potential suspension.<\/p>\n<p>Rodriguez is slated to make $28 million this season and has yet to play a single game for the Yankees.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is an interesting development in the Alex Rodriguez saga.
