After five seasons with the Cubs and four trips to the post season – including a 2016 World Series win – the team and manager Joe Maddon parted ways.<\/p>\n

Not shortly thereafter the Angels jettisoned Brad Ausmus as their manager. Rumors immediately began to swirl about Maddon and the Angels having a reunion.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday the team and Maddon came to agreement on a three year deal.<\/p>\n

Before managing <\/span>the Cubs <\/span>and <\/span>the Rays before them, Maddon was part of the Angels <\/span>system. After almost <\/span>two decades <\/span>working in <\/span>the minors, Maddon moved up to <\/span>the majors as a coach in 1994<\/span>. He remained with <\/span>the team <\/span>though 2005<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Maddon will now be tasked with <\/span>competing in <\/span>the AL West where <\/span>the Angels <\/span>will have <\/span>to contend <\/span>with <\/span>the Astros and Athletics<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
