Aaron Hicks hs been activated by the Yankees for the American League Championship Series.
Hicks will rejoin the Yankees at the expense of Luke Voit who while on the American League Division Sereis roster for the series against the Twins did not appear in a game. Voit had a awful end to the regular season going 1-for-32 after missing August with a sports hernia. Overall he had a solid season hitting .263/.378/.464 with 21 homers and 62 RBI but the Yankees feel a rested Hicks will offer them more going forward.
The Yankees have been without Hicks since August 3 as he has dealth with a right elbow injory. After rest and rehabilitation he is going to try and help the Yankees for the ALCS. Hicks hit .235/.325/.443 with 12 home runs and 36 RBI in 59 regular-season games and may end up needing Tommy John surgery after the season.
