The Twins continue to look for rotation help and two names the team has shown interest in are Ryan Vogelsong and Brett Anderson.
The Minnesota Star Tribune passes along news that the Twins continue to pursue the 37-year-old Vogelsong who was 8-13 with a 4.00 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP a season ago in 32 starts for the Giants. After struggling for much of his career the right hander seemed to find something once he landed in San Francisco. He could be a worthwhile end of the rotation piece on a team not expected to contend.
Another pitcher the Twins continue to show interest in is former Rockies starter Brett Anderson.
The Twins will be among the teams who meet with Anderson’s agent at the upcoming Winter Meetings. Other teams showing interest in the left hander are the Royals and Astros.
While Anderson continues to pose a health risk, he does offer tremendous upside when he actually can though. After making just 19 starts over the past three seasons he will come cheap.
