The New York Mets will call up relief pitcher Buddy Carlyle Saturday to provide help to their bullpen.
Carlyle has been toiling around the majors for years as a relief pitcher/spot starter but has never really stuck around. Things do not figure to change with the Mets.
Carlyle has a 1.33 ERA in 20 1/3 innings at Triple-A Las Vegas and could be the first man used out of the pen for the Mets on Saturday. He figures to rejoin Las Vegas shortly after.
