Pirates bullpen gets a shark tank for clubhouse

The Pittsburgh Pirates have taken the term Shark Tank and applied it to their bullpen. Thus far the Pirates pen has been one of the best in baseball, so naturally they added a aquarium to the clubhouse.

They “look for the smell of blood and go in for the kill,” closer Jason Grilli told MLB.com of the Pirates bullpen.

Grilli began looking to see what kinds of sharks could be kept as pets. He ended up with a 150 gallon-tank  — complete with several Pirates figurines, a ship and a skull — to house a black-and-white-dotted Coral Cat shark, a yellow-striped Banded Cat shark, and a puffer fish, so far.

The Pirates closer said that more “predatory creatures,” are on the way. Thus far Grilli has been quite the predator on the mound as he is a perfect 21-for-21 in save opportunities.
