Kensington Palace officials confirmed Monday morning that Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, had been admitted to St. Mary&#8217;s Hospital in London in the early stages of labor.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge has been admitted this morning to St. Mary&#8217;s Hospital, Paddington, London in the early stages of labour. The Duchess travelled by car from Kensington Palace to the Lindo Wing at St Mary&#8217;s Hospital with The Duke of Cambridge,&#8221; the palace said in a statement today.<\/p>\n<div>Both Middleton and William entered the hospital through a side door in order to avoid the media.<\/p>\n<p>Kate is expected to give birth in the private Lindo Wing of the hospital, where Princess Diana also gave birth to William and his younger brother, Prince Harry.<\/p><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The couple&#8217;s spokesman said, &#8220;Things are progressing as normal,&#8221; while Sky News&#8217; royal correspondent Paul Harrison said the Duchess&#8217; condition had been described as &#8220;very well&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The palace did say that Kate went into labor naturally, and was not induced, and they also subsequently confirmed that Kate and William had come from Kensington Palace.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The public will find out the details of the future heir to the throne when the notice is placed on an easel in the forecourt of the Palace.<\/p>\n<p>The news will not be relayed by the palace&#8217;s twitter feed for approximately half an hour, sources say. Courtiers say that William is expected to come out of the hospital on his own and make a short statement to the media, and then the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will leave hospital together with the baby and pose for pictures.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The royal baby is on the way!
