Pato O’Ward led a surprise podium accompanied by Rinus VeeKay and Kyffin Simpson.
With three to go the cars of Nolan Siegel and Felix Rosenqvist got together preventing the race from finishing under green.
Pole sitter Colton Herta saw his chance of sitting on the podium go away during that crash. Marcus Ericsson, Kyle Kirkwood, Graham Rahal, Callum Ilott, David Malukas and Scott Dixon rounded out the top ten.
Points leader Alex Palou finished 12th behind Will Power.
