Former White Sox closer Bobby Jenks has stomach cancer

Bobby Jenks shared with MLB.com that he was being treated for stomach cancer.

“Now it’s time to do what I got to do to get myself better and get myself more time, however you want to look at it,” Jenks told MLB.com in an interview. “I’ll tell you one thing: I’m not going to die here in Portugal.”

The 43-year-old Jenks spent the majority of his career with the Chicago White Sox. Jenks is best known as being the closer of the 2005 World Series team. He would save 173 games for the White Sox in his career before making 19 appearances with the 2011 Boston Red Sox.
