Jesse Love continued the success of Richard Childress Racing at Superspeedway tracks in the NASCAR Xfinity Series winning the first race of the season. The win at Daytona International Speedway is the second in two seasons for Love on Superspeedways, following his win at Talladega Superspeedway last season.
Justin Allgaier began the day on the pole after qualifying was rained out forcing the field to be set by points. The first caution would come on lap 5 during a commercial break when Brandon Jones tried to check up and was hit by Love resulting in multiple drivers taking damage.
