Hamlin wins at Kansas, AdventHealth400 Results

Denny Hamlin would use a last lap pass of Kyle Larson to earn the 49th win of his NASCAR Cup Series career at Kansas Speedway.

William Byron began the day on the pole. On lap five Larson would move to the front of the field but was then turned by Tyler Reddick to bring out the first caution. Larson suffered no damage in the incident. The first stage saw green flag pit stops with Chase Briscoe being the big loser as his car would lose its tire prior to leaving pit road. When pit stops were over Denny Hamlin would be shown as the race leader.

On lap 70 Byron would scrape the wall and need to pit for tires and repairs. After 80 laps the first stage ended with Hamlin, Martin Truex Jr., Ty Gibbs, Tyler Reddick, and Daniel Suarez being shown as the top five. After the restart, Truex would take the lead from Hamlin on lap 90. Hamlin would regain the lead nine laps later.

Austin Cindric would hit the wall on lap 108 bringing out another caution. Bubba Wallace would lead the field on the restart before giving up the lead to Truex. After Aric Almirola spun on lap 140, Larson would lead the field on the restart but it would only be four laps until Erik Jones spun. Larson and Wallace would exchange the lead several times with Wallace being ahead at the time of a spin by Christopher Bell. While the leaders pitted before the stage ended, several cars stayed out hoping to steal stage points. The race would go green with three laps left in the stage but it would not last long as Kyle Busch was spun on the restart. Logano, McDowell, Noah Gragson, Erik Jones, and AJ Allmendinger would finish in the top five.

After the stage break, Logano and those drivers would line up behind those who pitted under the previous caution. Three additional cautions fell for a spins involving Ty Gibbs, Harrison Burton, and Josh Berry. On the lap 221 restart Larson would get around Byron for the lead.

As Larson tried to navigate lapped traffic Denny Hamlin would pull along side him. On the final lap of the race Hamlin would make contact with Larson getting the No. 5 into the wall allowing him to complete the pass.
