The market for James Shields is still playing out. Among the teams interested in the 33-year-old right hander is the Diamondbacks.
As FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal points out the inclusion of the Diamondbacks in a list of suitors for Shields probably means his market is not at the $100 million mark. The Diamondbacks simply will not go that high.
Rosenthal added that there was a team who offered $110 million but Shields did not want to sign with that team.
Sources: #DBacks in mix for Shields, a strong indication that his market is not at $100M; AZ is not willing to spend for him at that level.

Where Shields ends up is anyones guess. He may not find a team until Max Scherzer signs.
Sheilds had a fine regular season going 14-8 with a 3.21 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP.
