Max Taylor secured his first career INDY NXT by Firestone win on Sunday, surviving a chaotic debut for the Arlington street circuit. Starting fourth, the Andretti Global driver moved into the lead in the closing laps, overtaking Enzo Fittipaldi following a series of caution periods and a multi-car battle for the top spot.
The race began with immediate drama when a backstretch collision involving Colin Kaminsky triggered an extended caution. Once the green flag returned, the fight for the lead became a tactical chess match between Fittipaldi, Kucharczyk, and Taylor. Despite Fittipaldi’s defensive efforts, Taylor’s late-race pace proved insurmountable.

“I wanted it with every ounce of my body,” Taylor said. “I had to fight for it. That was some hard racing out there. This track just creates such good racing. Absolutely incredible to drive around here. We had to make some moves out there. A lot of fun, a lot of carnage happening, but we were able to show our pace.”
