Dallas Wings rookie standout Paige Bueckers is officially back. After missing four games due to a concussion and sitting out Sunday’s contest with an illness, Bueckers has been cleared to play Wednesday vs. the Phoenix Mercury — with no minutes restriction, per head coach Chris Koclanes.
The timing is critical for Dallas, who just announced Tyasha Harris will miss the rest of the season following surgery for an undisclosed knee injury. Harris was a key piece of last year’s squad, starting 38 games and averaging 10.5 points.
Bueckers, the No. 1 overall pick and former UConn star, is averaging 14.7 points, 6.7 assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 2 steals in six games. She led the Wings to their only win of the season with a 21-point, 7-assist performance against the Connecticut Sun on May 27.
With a record of 1-9, Dallas desperately needs a spark — and Bueckers’ return could be just that.
