Hocevar notches Kansas Speedway Truck Series win, Results

Carson Hocevar returned to the Craftsman Truck Series earning a win Saturday night at Kansas Speedway.

Jake Garcia and Corey Heim began the race on the front row. As Heim took the lead on the opening lap, Tyler Ankrum would make contact with the wall and Ty Majeski would cut a tire forcing him to pit.

Dawson Sutton would go around entering pit road and then penalize him two laps for intentionally causing a caution. Majeski would get the free pass under the caution while several others would also pit to fix issues. A caution for Luke Baldwin making contact with the wall set up late pitstops for everyone before the end of the first stage. Heim would go onto win the first stage.

Hocevar would win the second stage which had one caution for a spin of Cody Dennison who experienced a flat left rear tire.

As Hocevar clicked off laps at the front of the field in the third stage, others began to make pitstops. Frankie Muniz’s spin on lap 97 while trying to avoid another truck who had slowed down, would trap several drivers a lap down forcing them to take the waive around while others would pit under caution.

After the restart Bayley Currey would get loose bringing out a caution while Connor Mosack also took damage after Chandler Smith ran into the back of him as both tried to avoid the wreck.

Tanner Gray would slowly crawl to the pits with four laps to go as Layne Riggs tried to run done Hocevar shrinking the gap to half a second with two laps to go. As Hocevar tried to block Riggs contact was made but Hocevar found his way to the finish line first.
