Kyle Larson takes advantage of Corey Heim’s sputters at Homestead, Baptist Health 200 Results

Kyle Larson won Friday night’s running of the Baptist Health 200 as the truck of Corey Heim dealt with power issues in the closing laps.

Corey Heim began the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race on the pole and would battle his way back to win the opening stage making a late pass on Kyle Larson. The second stage would be dominated by Heim as he took his second stage win of the night. At this point there had been no cautions other than the stage breaks.

Ty Majeski had been running up front for much of the night but found his truck damaged after contact with Kaden Honeycutt during pitstops. The first caution for an on-track incident would occur on lap 90 when Kyle Larson lost control while making a move for second place. He would go around but did not take any damage. Honeycutt would get a penalty after interfering with the tire carrier for Daniel Hemric during pitstops.

Ross Chastain would take the lead on the lap 96 restart but he would find Heim getting back around him in short order. Meanwhile Larson and Honeycutt would begin to move though the field.

Heim had the fastest truck but power issues became a factor allowing Layne Riggs, Chastain, and then finally Larson to catch up and make moves around him. In the end Larson would get by Riggs for the win.
