Josh Berry wins first Cup race as Wood Brothers return to victory lane, Las Vegas results

Morgan Freeman was on hand to give the command to fire engines while WWE Superstar Chelsea Green drove the pace car. Michael McDowell began from the pole leading the first lap before Joey Logano would make his way though the field. Logano’s teammate Ryan Blaney began to work his way from the rear of the field. As pitstops would start, the car of Chase Briscoe would lose the left rear wheel to bring out a caution.

Kyle Busch and the rest of the cars who had not pitted yet would make their way to pitlane with Austin Cindric moving to the lead with Alex Bowman and Bubba Wallace behind him. Cindric would win the stage with Bowman, Chase Elliott, Wallace and Kyle Larson behind him.

Wallace would assume the lead on the restart while Bowman would have to pit for a vibration. On lap 100, Larson would move to the front with Shane Van Gisbergen spinning while running 28th just eight laps later. Blaney would get back on the lead lap during this caution while Bell got service and then turned into the stall of Chase Briscoe after noticing a tire was not tight. He would get a penalty for pitting outside his box.

On the ensuring restart Busch would lose a right rear wheel while making contact with the wall. Busch would have to pull his car behind the wall as Denny Hamlin moved back on the lead lap. Van Gisbergen would have more problems after losing a right front tire. Later in the stage the caution came out for Todd Gilliland after he made contact with the wall. Larson would then win the stage.

Cody Ware would spin on lap 188 while contact between Noah Gragson, Blaney, and Wallace near sixth position, caused Blaney to spin on lap 195. Busch would hit the wall on lap 242 while Noah Gragson hit the wall a lap later after losing a right front tire to bring out the caution.

With 14 laps to go Josh Berry would get by Daniel Suarez for the lead as Ryan Preece moved into third. The race would go green from there as Berry claimed the win. Berry becomes the 20th different driver to win for the Wood Brothers as the team recorded their 101st win. Harrison Burton won the team’s 100th race last season.
