Andres Perez de Lara joins Spire Motorsports for 2025 Truck Series Campaign

Spire Motorsports has announced that Andres Perez de Lara, the 2024 ARCA Menards Series Champion, will pilot the No. 77 Chevrolet Silverado full-time in the 2025 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series. With a goal of capturing the Rookie of the Year honors, Perez de Lara brings an impressive track record and high expectations to the team.

A Rising Star Joins Spire Motorsports

Perez de Lara, a 19-year-old from Mexico City, Mexico, made his CRAFTSMAN Truck Series debut with Spire Motorsports in 2024, delivering a standout ninth-place finish at World Wide Technology Raceway. The young driver has quickly made a name for himself, becoming the first Mexican-born driver to win the ARCA national championship in the series’ 72-year history. His 2024 ARCA campaign included 10 top-five and 17 top-10 finishes, solidifying his place as one of the sport’s brightest up-and-coming talents.

Spire Motorsports co-owner Jeff Dickerson highlighted Perez de Lara’s potential and commitment to the sport. “Andres Perez de Lara has a very bright future,” said Dickerson. “He has a huge upside and is already integrated into our processes and methods of preparation. We’re thrilled to officially add him to the Spire family.”

Proven Success in ARCA and Beyond

In just two ARCA seasons, Perez de Lara demonstrated his ability to compete at a high level, earning three poles, 20 top-five finishes, and 33 top-10 finishes. His career averages include a 6.4 qualifying position and a 7.5 race finish, along with leading 108 laps. His racing journey began at age 11 in karting, progressing through L-A Formula 4 and NASCAR Mexico Trucks, where he won the 2022 NASCAR Mexico Challenge Series championship.

Perez de Lara expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity, stating, “It’s such a great opportunity for me and one that I have been working extra hard to get. It’s awesome to work with a team like Spire and what that means for me as a driver having so many experienced and very accomplished people working with me to make the most of this opportunity. Daytona can’t come soon enough.”

Chad Walter to Lead the No. 77 Team

Veteran crew chief Chad Walter will oversee the No. 77 team. With over two decades of experience, Walter has worked with some of NASCAR’s most prestigious teams, including Hendrick Motorsports, Penske Racing, and Richard Childress Racing. His recent success with Spire’s No. 71 Truck Series team in 2024 included two pole awards, one win, and a playoff berth.

Walter expressed confidence in his new driver, saying, “I’ve always enjoyed the opportunity to help mold drivers into the future stars of NASCAR. Andres has proven that he can be that next ‘one.’ Our goal is always to be competitive, maximize our weekends, and race the right way with our competitors.”

Looking Ahead to 2025

Perez de Lara’s No. 77 Chevy Silverado will feature sponsorship from Telcel, Infinitum, and Claro, with primary sponsorship details to be announced. The season kicks off at the Fresh From Florida 250 at Daytona International Speedway on Feb. 14, 2025, with live coverage on FS1.

With a strong support system, a proven track record, and a promising future, Andres Perez de Lara and Spire Motorsports are poised for an exciting 2025 season.
