Richmond Raceway hosts NASCAR’s return to the track following an Olympic break.
Denny Hamlin, who has five-career wins at the track, will lead the field tot he green flag for the start of the Cook Out 400.
Following the completion of the Cook Out 400 only three regular season events will remain for the Cup Series when the list of championship hopefuls will be narrowed to 16.
Entering Richmond 12 drivers have scored wins meaning unless winless drivers sweep this event and those that follow at least one driver will make their way into the playoffs via points. Martin Truex is 108 points above the cutline with Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Ty Gibbs is 42 above. Chris Buescher has a little more cause for concern at +17 while Ross Chastain is +7 on the bubble. Bubba Wallace -7. Chase Briscoe -83 and Kyle Busch -118 are the closest to the cutline.
