William Sawalich goes sideway to win at Elko, Shore Lunch 250 ARCA Results

William Sawalich got sideways at the line to claim the Shore Lunch 250 at Elko Speedway.

Amber Balcaen would spin shortly after the green flag losing a lap in the process. Once the race returned to green Sawalich began to click off laps quickly with only seven cars remaining on the lead lap after the first 50 times around the 3/8-mile oval. Thirty laps later only five cars remained on the lead lap.

Rick Redig-Tackman would bring out a caution on lap 86 after spinning out his No. 31 machine. Just before the race break Isabella Robusto was caught up in an incident between Lavar Scott and a lapped car. Robusto and Kris Wright, also in an incident with Scott, would return to the track heavily tapped after the break.

On lap 149 the No. 99 car of Michael Maples would make contact with the race leader Sawalich damaging the left rear quarter panel of the No. 18. Despite the damage Sawalich would not come to pit road. Repairs would be made to his car during the second race break.

Sawalich would make his way up to second with Ryan Roulette bringing out a caution with 16 laps to go. Despite rain drops falling the race would go green with seven go to. Scott would start on the inside with Wright jumping to the inside as lightning lit up the sky. Sawalich would clear Wright and set his sights on Scott with four to go. It would take just one lap for him to along side Scott but before he could clear him Scott would do a cross over getting the inside line. The two along with Wright would cross the line together sideways.
