Pato O’Ward posted the fastest lap in Saturday’s IndyCar practice at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Couse.
After spending much of the session in the mid-pack, Scott McLaughlin was able to move up on the speed chart late in the session.
Points leader Alex Palou found himself off the track twice late but was able to keep going. The two-time champion is probably not too concerned as he was fastest on Friday.
Five different teams were represented in the top-10 in the session.
This weekend is the first for the new power hybrid power unit. With the new unit cars get 60 horsepower added under typical conditions and 120 added during push to pass situations. However cars are 100 pounds heavier.
