Colton Herta had the fastest lap in Saturday’s NTT IndyCar Series practice session on Saturday. The Andretti driver was nearly two seconds faster than second place Will Power.
The session was beset by four red flag stoppages as drivers struggled to deal with the pouring rain.
After Kyle Kirkwood went off the track with just over six minutes to go multiple drivers returned to their cars to practice on fresh wet tires. Alex Palou’s car would stall after getting back on the track forcing the fourth red flag.
Qualifying later today is expected to be in wet conditions at 3:25 pm.
