Scott McLaughin, Will Power, make up all Penske front row at Barber, Starting Lineup

Scott McLaughlin and Will Power made up an all Team Penske front row during qualifying for Sunday’s NTT IndyCar Series race at Barber Motorsports Park.

Teammate Josef Newgarden will start the event eighth. The pole for McLaughin came after a week which saw Team Penske penalized for the illegal use of push to pass at the season opening race in St. Petersburg.

“It’s been tough,” McLaughlin said. “The Good Ranchers Chevy was so good today, and I just wanted to give these guys and girls on the team an opportunity to be back on front row and back on pole. In the last couple of races, we just haven’t hit it in qualifying.

“This means a lot. We’ve just got to keep focusing like this for the rest of the season and keep working hard.”

The pole is the sixth in the career of McLaughlin. He was the 2023 winner of this event. The pole is also the 300th for Team Penske in IndyCar.

Coverage of the Grand Prix of Alabama will air on NBC and Peacock beginning at 1:00 pm ET on Sunday.
