Daytona 500 to take place on Presidents Day due to rain

The season opening Daytona 500 has been postponed due to rain forcing the race date to shift to Monday.

Rain on Saturday and the threat of rain Sunday forced NASCAR to delay the 66th running of the Daytona 500 until President’s Day on Monday.

The Daytona 500 will now run as part of a doubleheader following the Xfinity Series race. Coverage of the race will start at 4:00 pm ET on FOX.

Joey Logano will start the race on the pole.
