AJ Allmendinger may be returning to the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2024 but the driver will get an opportunity to run in the Cup Series’ season opener, the Daytona 500.
Allmendinger will get behind the wheel of the No. 16 Chevrolet of Kaulig Racing as he competes in his 11th Daytona 500.
Last season Allmendinger was moved to the Cup Series full-time driving the No. 16 machine after spending the two previous seasons in the Xfinity Series for Kaulig.
Allmendinger has three wins in the Cup series including two with Kaulig. In 2021 he surprised the field winning the Indianapolis Grand Prix. Last season Allmendinger won the Charlotte Roval race.
