AJ Allmendinger won Sunday’s Bank of American Roval 400 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The playoffs for NASCAR’s Round of 8 which start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway next weekend has been set.
Tyler Reddick began the day on the pole and would go onto win the first stage of the race. Chase Elliott claimed the second stage. In the end it was Allmendinger who would get to the checkered flag first becoming the first non-playoff driver to win during the playoffs this season.
With wins in previous races during the round William Byron and Ryan Blaney had already qualified themselves for the Round of 8. Joining them will be Denny Hamlin, Christopher Bell, Chris Buescher, Martin Truex Jr., Kyle Larson and Tyler Reddick.
Brad Keselowski, Bubba Wallace, Ross Chastain and Kyle Busch will not advance.
