John Hunter Nemechek wins Xfinity Series race at Texas, Full Results

John Hunter Nemechek went to victory lane on Saturday winning the Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 at Texas Motor Speedway.

With the win Nemechek joins Justin Allgaier in advancing onto the next round of the Xfinity Series playoffs. Parker Kligerman scored a surprise second with Sammy Smith, Carson Smith and Allgaier rounding out the top five.

The day proved problematic for several playoff drivers. On the first lap of the race Sam Mayer would go into the wall ending his day. Daniel Hemric would damage his car on lap 19 after getting into the grass.

Later in the race the No. 6 of Brennan Poole would have a scary incident with the pit wall.

As Allgaier was winning the first two stages Sheldon Creed was finding his car needing adjustments and the car of Jeb Burton would lose multiple laps and have to go behind the wall after losing a tire on track at the end of the second stage. Burton would briefly return to the track only to park it after an issue with the trackbar arose.

On the start of the third stage Trevor Bayne would get loose and make contact with Josh Berry damaging his No. 8. Bayne would also make contact with the No. 21 of Austin Hill as he slid on the track.

Allgaier would get out of the racing grove on a restart but would benefit after taking tires after the car of Dawson Cram spun. Allgaier would cycle to the lead as others pitted before Daniel Dye spun to bring out another caution. Allgaier would pit as others would need to take the waive around to get back on the lead lap.

With fresher tires on the restart following a spin by Daniel Hemric, Nemechek would take the lead.
