Michael d’Orlando wins USF Pro 2000 race No. 1 in Toronto, Results

Michael d’Orlando won the first of two USF Pro 2000 races on the streets of Toronto.

Myles Rowe began the race on the pole looking to extend his championship lead. It was the third straight race in which Rowe began on the pole as he was looking to follow up his win in the second Mid-Ohio race with another.

Seven laps into the race reports of light rain began to circulate. On lap 14 Louka St-Jean and Jack William Miller were involved in an incident which saw both drivers out of the race. Race control would extend the caution with rain falling on the track with a red flag eventually being shown as drivers were forced onto wet tires.

The race would resume with four laps to go as the track was fully wet by this time.  Rowe would go off the track in turn three as d’Orlando would assume the lead. Jordan Messig would also go around. Coming to the white flag Jonathan Brown would crash into the tire barrier in turn 8.

A full caution yellow would come out and d’Orlando would claim the win. He has now won three races over the last three weekend – Road America, Mid-Ohio and now Toronto.
