MBM withdraws from Xfinity Series race at Atlanta

The No. 66 entry of MBM Motorsports has been withdrawn for the Alsco Uniforms 250 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Saturday will mark the first Xfinity race since the beginning of 2015 that will not feature a MBM entry.

In a long post shared to social media, the Carl Long owned MBM team cited a lack of simulator time and weather concerns as reasons for the withdrawal. Every race at the reconfigured Atlanta track has seen its qualifying session cancelled which would MBM out of Saturday’s race.

Unsurprisingly sponsorship was also listed as a reason for the team’s decision to withdraw from the race.

Chad Finchum will now race for the team at New Hampshire Motor Speedway next weekend.

The team also announced that it will likely alternate between being a part-time team on both the Cup and Xfinity schedule citing a lack of personnel.
