Braves could start Mike Soroka on Sunday

The Braves could start Mike Soroka on Sunday against the Blue Jays in Toronoto.

Soroka has not pitched in a major league game since 2020 due to injuries. The right hander was born in Canada and with the Braves giving Charlie Morton an extra day of rest, the Braves could choose to activate him.

During five minor league rehab starts Soroka has a 5.23 ERA and a 19/5 K/BB ratio. Of note is that he has struggled in his last two outings. Two starts ago he allowed seven earned runs on ten hits while hitting two in three innings of work. In his most recent start on Saturday he allowed three runs in four innings of work while giving up seven hits and recording five strikeouts.

The Braves likely have no choice but to start Soroka with Max Fried and Kyle Wright both out for the next two months.
