The Angels have placed left handed pitcher Jose Suarez on the injured list with left shoulder discomfort.
Suarez was taken out of Sunday’s game against the Rangers with left shoulder discomfort so it is not a surprise to see him placed on the 15-day injured list.
This season Suarez has struggled though six starts compiling a 9.62 ERA, 2.14 WHIP and a 21/15 K/BB ratio in 24 1/3 innings of work.
To fill his roster spot the Angels have recalled 38-year-old reliever Cesar Valdez. His time with the Angels could be short as he has struggled at Triple-A Salt Lake and is signed to a minor league deal.
