Kevin Harvick makes 800th career start at Talladega

Kevin Harvick joined a small group of NASCAR drivers when he took the green flag for Sunday’s running of the Geico 500.

With Sunday’s start at Talladega Superspeedway, Harvick became the 10th driver to make 800 career starts in the NASCAR Cup Series.

Harvick will retire at the end of this season. Though his first 799 career starts in NASCAR’s top series he had 60 wins, 248 top-five, and 435 top-ten finishes. Harvick also won the 2014 NASCAR Cup Series title.

The only driver to win their 800th start was Richard Petty who won the Spring 1984 race at Dover.
