Bristol track activity for Friday cancelled due to rain

Rain has forced all track activity at Bristol Motor Speedway scheduled for Friday to be halted.

Two practice sessions had been scheduled for both the NASCAR Cup Series and the Craftsman Truck Series ahead of races this weekend at the short track which will be again covered with dirt, however rain will prevent any cars or trucks from seeing the track.

With more rain expected later Friday, NASCAR made the decision to cancel all of the practice sessions at Bristol which were to begin at 5:35 pm ET.

Both series will now have their first laps on the track in their respective heat races. The trucks take to the track for the Weather Guard Truck Race beginning at 8 pm ET on Saturday while the Cup Series is slated to run at 7 pm ET on Easter Sunday.
