Xfinity Series race at Auto Club Speedway postponed until Sunday

A sandwich of rain, snow, and rain fell on Auto Club Speedway on Saturday cancelling NASCAR’s on track activity.

Early in the day rain forced qualifying sessions for both the Xfinity and Cup Series to be cancelled but their remained hope that the Xfinity Series would be able to run the Production Alliance 300 later in the day.

Unfortunately, that did not happen as cars took to the track only to immediately return to pit road as track drying efforts would restart.

The weather at the Fontana based track gives Auto Club Speedway’s current 2-mile configuration a slight stay from its impending reconfiguration set to take place following this race weekend.

Auto Club Speedway has served as part of NASCAR’s western swing which also featured trips to Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and Phoenix Raceway.

The Xfinity Series race is now schedule to take place on Sunday following the Cup Series race at 8 pm ET. When the race does start it will be Austin Hill on the pole.
