Cody Ware to serve pass-though to start Sonoma

The No. 51 Rick Ware Racing team was given an L1 penalty after failing pre-qualifying inspection four times at Sonoma Raceway.

Driver Cody Ware was not allowed to participate in Busch Pole Qualifying on Saturday which will result in the car being at the back of the field to start the race. Ware will also be required to serve a pass-though penalty at the beginning of the race. The engineer, Steve Gray, has also been ejected from the racetrack.

Ware and the team also face additional penalties which will be announced in next week’s penalty report.

Scott Heckert driving the No. 78 Live Fast Motorsports car also failed inspection twice before qualifying resulting in the ejection of their engineer Chris Stanley.
