The 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season will start in much the same way the 2021 season ended with Kyle Larson at the front of the field.
Larson, who won the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series championship, won the pole for the 64th running of The Great American Race. Joining on him on the front row will be Hendrick Motorsports teammate Alex Bowman.
Thanks to a win in the first of two Duel races on Thursday evening Brad Keselowski will start third. His Roush Fenway Keselowski teammate Chris Buescher will start fourth after he won Duel 2. Last year’s winner Michael McDowell will start sixth after he finished second in Duel 2. The field will also have other Daytona 500 winners in Kevin Harvick, Joey Logano, Denny Hamlin, Kurt Busch, and Austin Dillon.
Coverage of the Daytona 500 will air on FOX beginning at 2:30 pm ET. The green flag is expected to waive at 3:06 pm ET.
