Martin Truex Jr. put on a dominating show last weekend at Darlington Raceway and the driver of the No. 19 Toyota Camry will now start on the pole for this weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Dover International Speedway.
Truex Jr. thus far is the only driver to win multiple races on the season. In his career he has gone to victory lane three times at the concrete mile long track.
Joining Truex on the front row for Sunday’s race will be Denny Hamlin, one of his teammates at Joe Gibbs Racing. William Byron and Kyle Larson make up a Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet row two.
The qualifying formula was again used to set the field at Dover which is made of up 25% of the drivers finish from the last race, 25% of the owner’s finish, 35% of the owner points position and 15% of the fastest lap of the last race.
Sunday’s race is scheduled to begin at 2 pm ET and go for 400 laps, 400 miles which will be broken into stages with the first ending at 120 and the second on lap 240. FS1 has the tv coverage while MRN has the radio call.
