Mike Wallace suspended by NASCAR

Mike Wallace has been suspended by NASCAR indefinitely for violations of 12.1; 12.8; 12.8.1.e.

Wallace, 61, had returned to race in a limited role in the Xfinity Series driving three races for the No. 0 car of Johnny Davis. All three of Wallace’s races were road course events with him finishing 24th at Indianapolis, 24th at Road America and 25th at the Daytona road course.

Section 12.8.1.e states as follows :

“Member actions that could result in a fine and/or indefinite suspension, or termination:

“Public statement and/or communication that criticizes, ridicules, or otherwise disparages another person based upon that person’s race, color, creed, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, religion, age, or handicapping condition.”

Wallace will need to complete sensitivity training mandated by NASCAR.
