Rick Ware Racing partners with James Davison for Indy 500 entry

On Thursday morning Rick Ware Racing announced they were partnering with James Davison for an entry in the 2020 Indianapolis 500.

Davison will be in the No. 51 Dallara-Honda as an entry for Dale Coyne Racing with Rick Ware Racing in the Aug. 23 race.

Jacobs Construction/Byrd will be sponsors of Davison’s Indy 500 run and will also sponsor him at an Aug. 16 event in the NASCAR Cup Series on the Daytona road course and weeks later for the Coke Zero 400 on the Superspeedway on Aug. 29.

“This is a bucket list item that is huge for me personally,” Ware said via NBC Sports. “I’ve never been to the Indianapolis 500, I’ve always been somewhere racing on Memorial Day. I’m ecstatic to be there; to be able to participate has been a huge deal. Being a smaller team, we’ve had a lot of interest and excitement in this as we’re making baby steps toward being in the top 30 (in NASCAR).”

Davison is competing in both Cup Series events at Michigan International Speedway this weekend.
