The New York Jets have added some depth at the quarterback position behind starter Sam Darnold.
On Friday it was announced that the team had signed former Super Bowl winning quarterback Joe Flacco to a one-year deal. Flacco, 35, will received $1.5 million in base pay with the chance to earn another $3 million with incentives.
Flacco figures to jump ahead of David Fales and fourth-round pick James Morgan for the backup job.
Last season Flacco ended up on injured reserve due to a herniated disk with the Denver Broncos 2-6 in his lone season there.
Flacco spent the other 11 seasons of his NFL career with the Baltimore Ravens. Overall he is 98-73 as a starter with 40,067 passing yards, 218 touchdowns and 141 interceptions.
