Giancarlo Stanton took on-field batting practice Wednesday according to Bryan Hoch.
Stanton had been expected to start the 2020 season on the injured list as a result of suffering a Grade 1 strain of his right calf in late February but with the regular season start pushed back it is appearing the 30-year-old may be ready when games start.
Marcus Thames said he had four hitters working out & taking BP on the field today – Giancarlo Stanton, DJ LeMahieu, Tyler Wade and Clint Frazier.
Stanton “looks good. We did some stuff inside and then we took a couple of rounds on the field. Just tried to space ourselves out.”
