On Monday the Giants signed outfielder Brandon Guyer to a minor league contract.
Guyer, 34, will also be invited to spring training as part of the deal.
Last year Guyer saw some time at Triple-A with the White Sox but lasted just 16 games and never got interest from others.
The right handed hitting Guyer will try to crack the Giants roster as a platoon bat against lefties for the rebuilding team.
Guyer is a career .250/.339/.388 hitter with 32 homers and 137 RBI.
