Infielder Devon Travis has elected to become a free agent after rejecting an assignment from the Blue Jays to Tripla-A Buffalo.
Travis, 28, missed the entire 2019 season with a lingering left knee injury.
Even when healthy Travis failed to impress during the 2018 season as he batted just .232/.275/.381 and with the emergence of Cavan Biggio there simply was not gonna be space on the Blue Jays for Travis to get considerable playing time anytime.
