On Wednesday the Royals released deliver Jacob Barnes.
After being designated for assignment on Monday, Barnes unsurprisingly passed through waivers unclaimed.
The 29-year-old will be able to sign with any team but it will surely come on a minor league deal as his 2019 season was not too different from the rest of his career as he held a 7.44 ERA over 32 2/3 innings of work.
