Austin Dillon to get back old crew chief

Austin Dillon will be getting a new – well actually an old – crew chief after the conclusion of the 2019 season.

Richard Childress Racing announces on Monday that Dillion’s current crew chief, Danny Stockman, will step down from his role at the end of the current season. Stockman will remains within the organization in a yet unannounced role.

Taking the place of Stockman will be Justin Alexander who has been serving as an Xfinity Series crew chief this season.

Alexander has previously worked with Dillon and was on the pit-box for both Dillon’s win in the 2017 Coca-Cola 600 and the 2018 Daytona 500.

Dillon is suffering though his worst Cup Series season and currently sits 23rd in the point standings.
