Aric Almirola turned in the fastest lap during the first Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series practice at Kansas Speedway.
Almirola ran 23 laps but the last wast the fastest at 30.311 seconds. He was followed by teammate Clint Bowyer. Kyle Busch was third fastest followed by Brad Keselowski before four Chevrolets in William Byron, Jimmie Johnson, Austin Dillon, Kyle Larson. Kevin Harvick was ninth fastest followed by Alex Bowman.
Qualifying for the Digital Ally 400 is later on Friday. The MENCS cars have a second practice on Friday as well.
